Hello Loyal Readers!
I am back. Of course I left with some somber news about my mom having cancer. Well she had successful surgery to remove the tumor in her colon. She still has tumors on her Liver that she will start chemo for this week. Whenever I talk with her she sounds great and is in awesome spirits. She says she is a little tired more and feels lethargic. Her attitude is incredible though. I wish I could be closer to her. It really sucks to have someone who means so much to me be going through this and not be able to give them a hug. We are all remaining optimistic for a full recover. Like I said before, she has as good a chance as anyone to beat this.
Aside from the reality of my Mom, I have been doing well. I started a temp job about 3 weeks ago grading standardized federal tests. So far I have graded grade 8 math and grade 11 social studies. It is full time, which is good for me, and is basically in a big computer lab with a bunch of retired teachers. It can be very repetitive because it is the same question over and over for 40 hours a week. I can't have headphones either and there is no internet on the computers. Basically I just get into a zone and go from there. Thursdays and Fridays can feel long, but it could always be worse. I am just happy that I have a paycheck coming in again.
I am moving to Plymouth at the end of this month. Andy decided he had enough of our shitty, small cramped place in Wayzata so he is renting a nice size townhouse in Plymouth. It will be an awesome upgrade and we are all rather excited about it. This Saturday I am having a mini party at my place. Basically I plan on getting drunk and grilling at my place Saturday and then heading to the muni to continue drinking and then heading back to my place to continue drinking. I have some confirmed guests, but the more the merrier. It should be a fun time.
Easter was a good day for me. I went to Andy's Mom's house and feasted and played kickball, played four square, played taps and hung out. It kicked ass. I was there until about 10:30. It was a mini hs throw back with Tom, Dave, Chris, and Andy all being there too. It was the most fun I had in a long time until this past Saturday which was the 2nd annual kickball Scavenger hunt.
I went out with Jill and Ivey and 2 of their friends. So it was Sean and 4 girls. We had a lot of fun though. It was a gorgeous day out. Tyler was awesome for showing up after work and meeting us out. We ended up going to the Loon (as the ladies went to the Gay 90's). The loon was crowded, but we lucked out in getting prime seats at the bar and posted up and watched hockey for about 4 hours straight. All the while shooting the shit with randoms who kept coming up and ordering drinks. I had the healthiest of buzzes going all night and Tyler and myself had a great fucking time. The girls met up with us later and then it was even more fun. I woke up at Tyler's to a text from Ivey saying "my friend woke up this morning and said you are her favorite person in the world, you were so funny last night." Needless to say, I was doing something right.
I'm gonna wrap this up, but basically this is what I'm up to lately.
-Volleyball at inn kahoots starts tomorrow night. I am pumped
-Work, working out, running, getting excited about the warm weather
-PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS
Playoffs have been amazing so far. It sucks there is no Wild, but I am a hockey junkie so I still enjoy the playoffs immensely. Back to watching this late Sharks-Blues game. I will try not to wait so long to post next time.
