First impression: They are really not that good. This first half has been painful to watch. They are playing syracuse with greg paulus at QB. For those that don't know he was the national high school player of the year as a QB in upstate New York...in 2004. He went to Duke the last 4 years to play Basketball and then went to Syracuse for grad school this fall, and somehow is their starting qb after not playing football for 4 years (though it needs to be said that he is obviously a good QB, but the fact remains this is the first time in 5 years he is playing football). That kinda shows you how weak the program is. Well the gophers d can't stop this potent syracuse offense. Even gophers offense, which should be potent, has looked (syracuse just scored again, 20-14 with 1:39 to go in the 2nd half) so average for most of the half.
This is just not a good thing for the gophers. They got air force at home next week and then cal the week after and then their big ten schedule. Yikes. I wonder if coach brew is wishing there were more cupcakes to work the kinks out this year?
Response to previous comments:
Jon: I bought THE ROAD like 4 years ago and have never finished it. I have started it about 3 times and then would get side tracked and forgot about it. I will read it before October 16th (movie release date). I always was intrigued by the premise ever since I read the review in EW way way back. I think it was their book of the year in 2005 (or whenever it was published, sometime around then). I have been reading vince flynn novels, you should look into those. They are amazing dude.
Dan: Sounds like a plan. Could you add in meals and high speed internet in the deal? If yes then I will build a dynasty with the high school.
Update:
There was a showing on the house so I had to go out, but I came back and kept watching the gophers suck. they ended up winning in overtime. It is really disappointing though. They have their new outdoor stadium this year that I am really excited about, but from the early returns at least, it appears that a poor product will be on the field. I hope the gophers can turn it around, but after today's performance I am not holding my breath.
What I'm watching tonight:
Alabama @ Virginia Tech (go hokies!!)
El Salvidor @ U.S. (world cup 2010 qualifier), come on men!!
Brazil @ Argentina (I just want an exciting game, which is impossible not to get when these 2 play each other)
NFL starts Thursday night, and I keep forgetting that I have a 3 day weekend. Life is glorious.
A Blog about my life. Topics are all over the place, but you can expect a fair share of sports and fun. Enjoy. Leave a comment if you want... or don't.

This new blogging thing really has me excited. I bet it could grow amongst our friends. Eventually, born from this growth, illman could start a forum and there would be a lot of lively discussion and interaction....
Moving on, give me four years to get a good paying job here in town and then lets talk for real. If I live here for the rest of my life (which would be nice) I don't want Henry to suck ass at soccer like his old man.
