I enjoy reading books, most of my friends know that. I am currently reading Where Men Win Glory: The Oddysey of Pat Tillman. Tillman was an nfl football player who gave up a multi-million dollar contract to join the army, go to ranger school (beast mode), and then serve his country. He died from friendly fire which was covered up. I didn't waste my time reading this book.
I hate wasting my time reading books because they take a lot of time commitment to finish. A good, regular 300+ page book will take me approximately 5 hours of reading time to finish (30 pages/hour avg. reading time, I know it is slow). Watching non-entertaining tv is something I don't do (it doesn't mean it isn't shitty and pathetic; Whats up Jersey Shore!?) because after an episode if something sucks I just say "you suck" and never think about it again. Watching a shitty movie is only a minor time commitment, and usually you can make fun of it with the people you saw it with. Reading a shitty book is bad. I haven't read a shitty book in a while. It is easy to ask: Why would you continue reading it if it was so bad? I need to finish it to see if it gets any better. Once I finish it and it never got any better that is when I feel very empty inside because of that massive amount of time wasted.
After the Tillman book is finish (about 40 pages left) I will read The Road, then finish a Vince Flynn book, and then see where I want to go from there. David Halberstam (awesome non-fiction writer) has a book called "The Coldest Winer" about the forgotten war (Korea) that is apparently amazing. He has one about vietnam (The Best and The Brightest) that is also supposed to be amazing. They are both long books, but I think I might dive into those early next year.
A Blog about my life. Topics are all over the place, but you can expect a fair share of sports and fun. Enjoy. Leave a comment if you want... or don't.
