chalmskin

I went running on Saturday after I got home from house sitting at Jan's for the final time (already waiting for another place to go, man my house is depressing) and it was truly amazing. It was about 40 degrees when I started running. Being that it was later in the day, the temp definitely dropped a little and the wind chill could definitely be felt. I had shorts on and a dri-fit long sleeve shirt with a half-zip fleece over it (also wore my badass army hat, thanks pops! . The weather felt awesome and I really wished that it was mid-late march, but it was obviously the end of january. I have mentioned previously that I signed up for a marathon in June in Duluth, MN. I have not run since October, and really have no done much active stuff (especially cardio) since running in the fall. My run on Saturday was definitely a wake-up call to myself. I am starting to wonder what I got myself into. I ran for about 3.6 miles and was a little tired afterward. The feeling after wasn't the problem, thats always the best part. It was the feeling I got sunday morning. The "jesus my legs should not be this sore" feeling when getting out of bed. Today I had the same feeling. The hamstrings were very tight and sore, as were the glutes, and quads. This isn't a feeling that is foreign to me. I used to always be used to it when I would be trying to get fit for soccer. It is always a bummer when it comes though and you feel like you are going to die. The good news is that that part is out of the way. The bad news is I have a feeling that training for the marathon (official training starts 2 week from tomorrow (tuesday the 17th). I am thinking about possibly making a new blog to keep track of my training for the marathon i.e. tracking daily the runs, temp, distance, thoughts, etc. I guess I could just do it here. Maybe I will go back to my livejournal and write it there. That way it separates work and play. "But Sean which is work and which is play?" good question optimistic side of head, lets just leave that answer for another time. Like I have said before I am excited to run it just for the challenge, thats the main reason why I'm doing it. I guess losing some weight (which is nice) comes with that fact, but I could just run 3 miles daily and lose weight. I'm doing this solely for the challenge and for the mental toughness. Its all mental, like most things in life.

I would still love for someone to join me in running (other than allie, but technically she was already doing it with her friend, so forget her). Tom I am glaring at you right now, I am directing this straight at you. Run this with me. I got bad intel on the sign up and apparently it usually is full by late march, not mid february like I heard from someone. So, considering that, and the fact that you are already in good shape it should be fine for you. All that running could cook up ideas in your head about the literature that you are reading these days. It was freezing today and will be chilly for the next few days, but then we get mid 20's and low 30's which is weather that sounds amazing (wooo minnesotans ftw!!).

Trivia tonight was fun as chalmskin. We took 2nd and won 50 free wings. The team of andy, lindsay, tyler, courtney, chris, illman, and myself. The music round fucking killed us and we ended up losing by a point. Still respectable though. First place takes $100 cash so that point was definitely a big one. No worrying though because we will be back and will conquer that trivia and move onto the next place that wants to get a lesson in what it means to be a pop culture whore and have friends that are just as pathetic (or as we look at it amazing). Good job tonight team, made me proud of all the contributions from everyone. No dead weight, which is always nice.

Superbowl on sunday somehow turned out to be a solid game. It didnt really matter because the people who I was around made it a fun game anyway. All the jokes and silly banter that you should come to expect around the new shl (chris photo album reference?!?) were there. I am sorry I didn't stay for rumplestilskin (sp), but fucketh me I was tired and kinda drained after I didn't get to see the John wayne Gacy raped any boys in Gacy (wiki it if you don't know who he is). I feel like my posts need to be a little better done. Next time I come at you I think I will talk about some podcasts that I have been repping lately and also a little on the tv front. Its almost quarter to 3 though and I am tired. Without further ado I'm going old school with some pictures from about 3-4 years ago. Some would call classics, I would call them antiques. An fyi that I do have about 150 pictures on my camera from the last year. Those will be put on my computer whenever I buy it, which may (10%) or may not(90%) be soon. Cheers, enjoy the pics. See you around!
